Period leather binding, raised bands, gilt title lettering on contrasting red leather label. Front cover mostly detached, held only by binding cord.

Book remains well preserved and attractive on the shelf. It displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, the age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.

The narrative relates a sojourn in the remote African community of Mezorania whose social system supposedly bears ancestral traces of that of the Ancient Egyptians. It is therefore sometimes described as an early Lost Race novel.
