The rare first volume of this once very important trade journal. Absolutely packed with recently published works, countless ads related to the trade (many with small illustrations) plus a wide array of related subject matter involving journals, paper, etc. Also includes several full page views, and one large folding plate.

Rare book.

Period 1/2 leather binding, raised bands, gilt title lettering, marbled covers and end papers. Binding remains clean, tight, and sound, small scuffing and rubbing but leather remains supple. Interior contents display a pleasing age patina largely free of age spotting.

Book remains well preserved and attractive on the shelf. It displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, the age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
