Small group of three (3) 19th century books in original period bindings relating to the history of the United States. All published in the 19th century, they range from the first contact Europeans had with North America to the present time of their publication. Includes detailed information on the early presidential administrations, military history, and the formation of the party system. The reference information for the three volumes is as follows:
A Universal History of the United States of America, by C. B. Taylor.
Published 1838, New York by Ezra Strong.
605 pages. Wood cuts throughout. Period full leather, spine gilt decorated as typical, rubbed, pages loose, appears complete.
A History of the United States of America, by Charles Goodrich.
Published 1860, Boston by Swan, Brewer, Tileston.
433 pages. Leather spine decoratively embossed with gilt lettering, hand colored maps, b&w illustrations. Book lacks plates but appears complete textually.
The Political History of the United States, by James A. Boyd.
Published 1888, Philadelphia by P.W. Ziegler & Co.
