19th century 1/2 leather binding, smooth spine, gilt bands, gilt title lettering on contrasting red and green leather labels, former library paper label on spine, marbled covers and end papers.
Joints cracked, spine leather slightly dried and shipped, but binding remains clean, tight, and sound. Any age flaws are easy to overlook or forgive. Monumental work that retains a handsome shelf appearance.
