Period elaborate gift binding, gilt spine and cover decorations, embossed decorations. Bindings remain clean, tight, and sound, new endpapers and paste downs. Paper well age toned throughout, some of the folding illustrated plates with edge tears or chipped, etc.
Book remains attractive on the shelf, gilt is bright. It displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, the age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
