Period full leather binding, smooth spine, gilt bands, gilt lettered title on contrasting red leather label. Rare 18th century American printing of this once well known English book.

Original/ early owner has inscribed the blank fly leaf with his name, the 1802 date he bought it, price paid, and a short verse about taking the book.

Front cover detached, text block paper well uniformly age toned, but binding remains clean, tight, and sound. It displays a beautiful age patina, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
