Splendid work, sumptuously bound in fine grained morocco leather, nicely gilt ruled and lettered, all edges gilt, heavy paper stock used throughout. Red silk moire endpapers.

Once in a Massachusetts library near to Springfield, de-accessioned, all plates with rubber stamps on reverse, book plate to front pastedown.

A book over which no expenses were spared, a limited edition, likely under 100 examples, perhaps far fewer (no colophon or limitation).

Scarce/ rare work with a remarkable and excellent assortment of images, including many early family related documents of note, attractive award certificates, medals won in competitions, the man ice skating, his vast estate, him in the first automobile ever made in Springfield, guns, boats, etc.
