In a wonderful mid-19th century American full leather gift binding of the era. Scarce book, unique example in this binding.

Front joint cracked at head, rear joint fully cracked, scuffed, covers still well attached, book remains tight and structurally sound. Moderate scattered foxing throughout.

Period publishers special gift leather morocco binding, raised bands, gilt ruled and decorated compartments, gilt title lettering, gilt cover decorations, all edges and turn ins gilt.

Book remains well preserved and attractive on the shelf. It displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, the age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
