Period leather half binding, raised bands and gilt lettering. Marbled end papers and edges.

Monumental history of France by Francois Guizot, the famous French politician and academic. Contains over 300 engraved images. 

Joints, tips and leather scuffed, mostly sound, tight and clean otherwise. Handsome set which shows age but is still pleasing on the shelf.
