1888, New York, Publ. by Bryant Literary Union.
100 pages. Moss engraving. Two sided book- can be opened and read from either side.
Photographed by G. Willard Shear.
Purported to be the first photo-panorama of any river in the United States ever published, depicted the Hudson River from New York City to Albany. Photographs in black and white, many with fascinating and pleasing details including many early town views.
Oblong format, heavy card covers embossed in gold lettering, cloth spine over staples as issued. Couple cover tears nicely mended, first few leaves at top edge of one side damp stained and nicely mended with old paper.
Overall clean example, nice 19th century tourist souvenir book which would have been far more expensive souvenir than typical for the era when it was published.
Book measures: 7 1/2" H X 12 1/4" W.
