Complete and wonderful mid-19th century leather bound set, issued as 18 volumes, found here with a supplemental book in a uniform binding, creating a 19 vol. set.

Splendid condition, almost hard to believe preservation of leather spines. Marbled paper covers all slightly rubbed from companion books sliding past each other, during handling, otherwise set remains nearly as fresh and nice as issued.

Pairs of engraved plates at front retain original tissue guards, and display some light to moderate scattered age foxing due to paper used.

Overall text blocks fresh and clean, bindings with bright and attractive shelf appearance.

Short video captures condition much better than words. Please watch prior to purchase to ensure a clear understanding of the beautiful set. Far nicer than typical for the type or era.

Volumes 1 - 18 each contain two engraved plates opposite each other, before the title page. Final supplemental volume contains one engraved plate facing the title page. Perhaps a unique set, rare thus.
