Beautiful period full polished mottled leather binding, raised bands, compartments ornately richly decorated in gilt, title and volume on contrasting red and green leather bands, cover decorated in gilt design and rule, marbled edges and end papers. Any age flaws are easy to overlook or forgive.
Bindings remain clean, tight, and sound, joints cracked or cracking but all covers still firmly attached and sound. Interior contents remain clean and bright.
Absolutely stunning two (2) volume biography of Mary Stuart, or Mary, Queen of Scots.
Set retains an elegant and beautiful shelf appearance. Really an amazing antiquarian survival.
