Lot of six New England Farmer's American Almanacks, printed 19th century Boston, 1871-1880.

Each with methodical early owners manuscript day-book type brief annotations throughout. Each is inter-leaved with blank pages, the pamphlet then hand-stitched back together by the owner with heavy thread. Each early home-made binding remains firmly and soundly stitched, a fascinating survival illustrating how early owners might alter paper books they owned to suit their own purposes.

Owner was a man of business affairs and regularly traveled around the region for meetings. Many specific names of visitors to his home as well. Curiously, no almanack appears to bear the owner's name within. A potential research project awaits to solve the mystery of who this man was.

Short video captures condition much better than words. Please watch prior to purchase to ensure a clear understanding of the lot. Nicer lot than typical for the type.
