Vues de Paris, en Miniature.
Published c. 1797-1810, Paris by Saintin.
188 pages, illustrated with a profusion of 35 miniature engravings, 2 of which are folding.
Period full leather binding, smooth spine, compartments gilt decorated, gilt title on contrasting red leather label, gilt rule covers, marbled end papers.
Joints cracked, covers remain well attached by solid hinges. Overall, binding is well age worn (no doubt due to the small size and the years of being handled to open to inspect the many views throughout), but still remains tight and sound.Spine leather cracked with chipping at ends.
Couple text leaves near front trimmed with loss (thus defective), first folding plate with small loss to lower left edge (all visible within video).
Still, remains a pleasing near-miniature book with a multitude of views of late 18th century Paris. Includes both architectural views of key monuments, along with landscapes.
Book measures: 4" H X 2 1/2" W.
