305 pages. Text in Latin. Engraved frontis by Sessard after Durand, numerous charming and well executed chapter headings and tailpieces throughout.
Period mid-18th century mottled calf leather binding, spine compartments gilt decorated in lovely floral pattern, title gilt lettered on contrasting red morocco leather band, covers ruled in gilt outline, marbled end papers, all edges gilt.
Hinges cracked, spine scuffed with thin cracking down backstrip, but binding remains tight and sound, both covers strongly & firmly attached.
Interior clean and mostly free of spotting or foxing.
Exterior remains handsome with a fine shelf appearance. Video captures book better than words.
