Prima: The First Things in Reference to the Middle and Last Things, by Isaac Ambrose.
Published 1737, Glasgow, by Glasgow College. 590 pages.
Old 1/2 leather binding. Binding remains sound and tight. Book is defective and rebound as such long ago. Lacks first title page (other two present) and portion of final leaf, book opens to dedication leaf. Text block well age stained, short edge tears, paper uniformly age toned, old ex-libris, obviously a much handled and heavily read book since when it was issued.
A monumental work of the era.
Offered as acquired, as it survives, still an interesting example of an uncommon early 18th century imprint. Video captures condition better than words.
Book measures: 7 7/8" H X 6 1/2" W.
