Beautiful period publisher's embossed gift leather binding, ornate elaborate embossed designs on covers and spine, title in gilt on spine, all edges and turn ins gilt decorated. A goddess on a chariott led by horses is within the central circle.
Any age flaws are easy to overlook or forgive. Much nicer than typical for similar books and bindings of this era.
Front and rear joints scuffed but covers still firmly and strongly attached, the binding remains clean, tight, and sound.
Interior contents clean and largely free of spotting or foxing. Beautiful 19th century gift volume with a wonderful shelf appearance.
Book measures: 8 3/4" H X 5 3/4" W.
