Short video captures condition much better than words. Please watch prior to purchase to ensure a clear understanding of the book.
Published c.1855, New York by William Hall & Son and numerous.
approx. 35 collected sheet music songs for the piano. Approx. 4 fullpage lithographed or woodcut title pages throughout, most music just with title and imprint.
A collection of individual scores, all bound together long ago. Binding hard covers lacking, scores and some leaves somewhat loose and partly shaken as a result. Some hand notations in pencil from an early (likely original?) previous owner.
Music has clearly been handled and much played over the years. Various age flaws, some noticeable damp staining, short tears, smudges and soiling, etc. A work intended to be propped open, perhaps used for instructional purposes by a teacher or student of the era.
One of a kind survival.
Book measures: 13 1/4" H X 10" W.
