Period full leather binding, raised and gilt bands, embossed (stamped in blind) compartment decorations, gilt title lettering, gilt ruled & embossed cover decorations, marbled edges.
Binding remains clean, tight, and sound., edges, covers and joints surface rubbed and slightly scuffed but still supple.
Interior contents display a pleasing age patina, with moderate scattered spotting throughout, frontis engraving with long tear near gutter now closed with archival tape on reverse and easy to overlook.
Nice example of decorative American book binding of the early 19th century.
Book remains well preserved and attractive on the shelf. It displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, the age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
