Woodcut illustrated book c.1700's small rare pocket sized devotional prayer bookBrian DiMambro- Antiquarian Books, Maps & Prints
1650-1750, Europe. No title page, anonymous unidentified work.
approx 300 pp.
Likely 19th century 1/4 leather binding, smooth spine gilt ruled with small compartment stamps, a very subtle interesting embossed sun ray pattern and what appears to be a triangle within a circle. This pattern is easy to miss but unmistakable if the spine is held in the light and slowly moved around.
Clearly religious, many images from the life of Christ, likely a small devotional or prayer book intended for easy transport.
Includes fifty-one (51) charming, almost primitive wood cuts.
Likely rare in any condition.
Book measures: 4" H X 3 1/2" W.
