Beautiful atlas with contemporary calf leather binding, Cambridge style with embossed panels and floral devices in blind.
Sound and well preserved example, leather remains supple. Short cracks at joint ends along spine, text block sturdy, well sewn as issued. Hinges cracked, frontis map of England Roads with edge curled.
Fine assortment of country maps of all places around the world, plus many fortified plans of cities based upon de Fer. Includes California as an island on two maps, scarce map of "English Plantations in America" at p. 480.
