Period 1/2 leather binding, slightly raised bands, gilt compartment decorations, gilt title lettering, marbled covers and end papers, top edge gilt. Front and rear joints scuffed, but leather is supple, gilt is bright, binding remains clean, tight, and sound.
Book remains well preserved and attractive on the shelf. It displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, the age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
