Fascinating folio sheet early 19th century engraved map, with lovely original hand color.

Of note for the vast unbroken chain of mountains shown cutting across the entire center of Africa, the apocryphal Mts. of the Moon. Death of Capt. Cook on Hawaii noted, Louisiana Territory occupies center of North America which displays a remarkable density of western mountains in various directions.

Nice looking example, pleasing age patina, slight soiling and evidence of extra crease below title, still lovely appearance, any minor age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
