Uncommon 19th century lithographed antique map. With original hand color. Of particular note for the inset plan of the Shaker village lower right which names the families and their house arrangements.
Of note for the detailed coverage of the area, among the earliest obtainable 19th century maps of this particular location. An astonishing level of detail is captured, with endless specific family names given for specific houses, plot lines, etc.
Paper and image remains clean and well preserved with a fine patina and visual appeal.
