Charming and uncommon early 17th century antique copper engraved miniature map. Text on reverse as always.
Strapwork cartouche with German military miles distance scale below. Nile source shown within interior as a giant mythical lake of Ziare as well as Mts. of the Moon (Amara mons) mythical home of King Prestor John) for another branch.
Map displays overall age toning and light damp staining, some show-through, less than perfect example but still nice looking and worthy of ownership. Left side margin has been reinforced on back with matching paper to strengthen and slightly extend (see scan of reverse of map). Longitude and latitude graduations surround the map.
