Fascinating late 18th century engraved folio sheet map.
Lake Superior displays a prominent apocryphal island, the entire country westward is Louisiana and in the south New Mexico. Florida divided into east and west. Georgia and North Carolina appear to extend out to the Mississippi river. Annotations on the map mention extensive meadows inhabited by many buffaloes, a country region full of mines, various Native American lands, etc.
Nice looking example, pleasing age patina, bottom edge slightly frayed, couple minor small spots, any minor age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
Original fold lines as issued.
Sheet measures c. 14 1/2" H x 19" W.
