1804 Regency style leather bindings 2 vols. set Langhorne Poetry giltBrian DiMambro- Antique & Vintage Maps, Prints, Books & Gold Coins
Beautiful pair of 19th century ornate Regency style leather bindings. Intricately and ornately gilt decorated, beautiful mottled acid-etched calf, marbled endpapers and edges. High-style bindings, nicer than typical or standard binding styles of this era.
The Poetical Works of John Langhorne, D.D., vol. I-II, by Rev J. T. Langhorne, LL. B.
1804, London, J. Mawman.
Leather lightly rubbed, signs of handling and time, nothing offensive. Leather remains supple, attractive patina to set. Joints rubbed and slightly cracking although covers still firmly and well attached as bound. Minor tiny chipping or age flaws, not perfect, but still beautiful, well preserved and handsome set.
