Nineteenth century leather set, eleven volumes. Beautiful 3/4 red morocco bindings, raised bands, spine compartments ornately gilt decorated with intricate patterning, contrasting title labels. Covers, edges and end papers marbled, engraved author portrait to first volume. All text set within red ruled boxes.
Clean, fresh, tight set. Leather remains supple, any light scuffing, rubbing, wear or small age flaws being easy to overlook or forgive. Handsome and well preserved set, with pleasing age patina.
