Short video captures condition much better than words. Please watch prior to purchase to ensure a clear understanding of the item. Rare survival in any condition, especially from the West Coast.
Montgomery Ward Co. Catalogue and Buyer's Guide No. 93.
c.1920-22, Portland, Oregon.
pp.1036+/- a few missing pages scattered throughout, likely 98-99% complete, collation almost impossible since it appears the catalogs were tailored to the geographic region it was distributed in, so the pagination is erratic, repetitive and skips large number ranges at times with clearly no evidence of removal.
Like today, most catalogs are discarded or recycled, making for a very tiny survival rate of an item once produced in huge quantities.
A packed visual compendium of American commerce in the early decade of the 20th century, back when much of the country shopped by mail through vast telephone book sized printed catalogs distributed by huge companies like Montgomery Ward & Sears.
Literally tens of thousands of items all individually represented, all with prices. Many color page plates throughout. Price reflects the less than perfect condition, still a wonderful, fun and pleasing item all but guaranteed to make you smile as you browse.
Book measures: 13 1/4" H X 9 1/4" W.
