Rare medical book with great collector provenance. It seems possible (given his collecting interests) there is some connection to human sexuality or erotic health within this work.
Early 19th century European 1/4 leather binding. Smooth spine gilt ruled, decorated and lettered, marbled paper covered boards and end papers.
Sound, tight, well preserved book. Light rubbing to binding, contents square, clean and tight although there is some old damp staining to some of the final leaves.
With red leather gilt sunburst bookplate of Arpad Plesch, the renowned wealthy Jewish banker, financier and rare book collector of botanical books and esoteric erotica (see Wiki).
