Excellent and uncommon early 19th century engraved coastal map. Chart of Chinese coastline is very detailed, with some terrain features shown, numerous annotations (in Dutch) providing key facts about the area, temples, etc.
A profusion of early phonetic place names, including Kiang-Nan, Che-Chiang. Quang-Tung or Kanton (Guangzhou/ Canton- seen at bottom left on river), etc.
A very scarce/ rare map which only appeared within a very small run Dutch travel account.
Minor light surface age toning or offsetting as typical, but overall a pleasing visual example.
