2 Volumes, 405, 432 pages. Text in French. Engraved frontis portrait in volume 1 protected by original tissue guards.
Period 1/2 leather bindings, raised bands, gilt and embossed compartment decorations, gilt title lettering, marbled covers, edges, and end papers. Two old owners custom bookplates in each vol.
Bindings remain clean, tight, and sound. Leather is scuffed and a bit dried, broken joints, front cover of vol. 1 is loosened, (covers still firmly attached). Interior contents show light age spotting throughout.
Set remains well preserved and attractive on the shelf. It displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, the age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
