(World Maps, Eastern Hemisphere, Western Hemisphere, North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, Oceania, Captain Cook).
Issued c. 1794, London.
Late 18th century engraved map. Most of the western region of North America is "Parts Unknown". New Albion for California, the coastline above Oregon labelled "land seen by Spaniards 1775". The Carolinas and Georgia extend across to the Mississippi river, East Florida also extending that far.
Nice looking example, pleasing age patina, couple short closed edge tears in wide top blank margin, light old extraneous fold lines as often seen on folding folio sheet maps of this era, any minor age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
Original fold lines as issued.
Sheet measures c. 14 1/2" H x 19" W.
