Uncommon mid-19th century German map with original outline hand color. There are numerous variant versions of this map issued around this date by this maker, this example displaying the profiles lower right that include Dr. Livinstone's elevation findings of the continent between the oceans. There is extensive recently documented details seen within the interior.
Map shows scattered light age spotting but still displays a nice visual appeal.
Includes topographical profiles of The highlands of Unia Muesi, Namaqua & Owaherero, and Dr. Livingstone's travels from the Atlantic Ocean to the Indian Ocean.
