The Dusseldorf Artists' Album, ed. and trans. by Mary Howitt.
Published 1854, London by Trubner and Co.
c. 200 pages, with 48 colored lithographs, including two splendid ornate pictorial half-titles. Many of the plates are hand tinted in a nuanced manner.
Period full leather binding, raised bands, cover stamped outline decoration, marbled end papers. Covers and spine scuffed and rubbed, corners worn through, front joint cracked, but binding remains sound, covers still well attached, overall a nice antiquarian book with fine visual appeal.
Scattered toning and spotting throughout, all images shown in short video. Contents remain pleasing.
Book measures: 10 1/2" H X 8" W.
