Decorative book bindings 1850-70 Juveniles gilt ornate engravings 2 rare booksBrian DiMambro- Antique & Vintage Maps, Prints, Books & Gold Coins
(Children's Books- Juveniles- special prize bindings).
Mid-19th century publishers ornate embossed gilt decorative paper covered boards bindings.
Both richly decorated, color lithographed onlays to front covers, splendid bindings of the era. Both with engraved frontis, half title and 2 further engraved plates within each.
Both are complete and well preserved examples. All examples of this type of luxury publishers binding are uncommon/ scarce. Inherently fragile paper boards format, particularly since the books were intended for young people.
Short video captures condition much better than words. Please watch prior to purchase to ensure a clear understanding of the lot.
