In handsome and well preserved period 1/2 morocco leather bindings. Signed bindings by Launder & MacDonald.
Dark green crushed morocco leather, spine compartments richly and ornately gilt decorated with central devices, raised bands, marbled paper covers and end papers, top edge gilt. Engraved pictorial half title, eight Cruikshank engravings.
Fresh and attractive, with great shelf appeal. Light minor rubbing, trivial scuff spots, front hinge cracked but still sound, fresh and nearly as issued internally. Fine age patina, a lovely antiquarian set.
Books measure: 7" H X 4 3/4" W.
