Splendid full grained morocco leather binding. Smooth spine ornately and richly gilt decorated with urns and sun burst devices, contrasting gilt title label, covers in outline running rules, gilt ruled inner dentelles, all edges gilt. Paper stock is particularly heavy, much thicker than typical.
With what seems to be an early Royal stamp to free fly leaf of perhaps Maria, Queen of Sicily (in Exile).
A complete, clean, sound, tight and very well preserved example of a beautiful antiquarian book binding.
