Beautiful period publishers full leather [grained morocco] Gift binding, raised bands, ornate gilt compartments, title in gilt, covers richly gilt decorated. All edges gilt.
Retains a very handsome shelf appearance, bright, with lovely age patina.
Very nice 19th century binding produced to be given as a gift.
Hinges and joints remain strong. Binding clean, tight, and sound. Interior shows some occasional spotting or foxing, mostly to the plates printed on heavy paper. Any age flaws are easy to overlook or forgive. Much brighter and nicer than typical.
