Decorative period full leather binding, raised bands, title gilt lettered, compartments stamped in blind, covers stamped and decorated in ornate blind fleur-de-lys pattern. Beautiful marbled end papers, turns-ins wonderfully gilt decorated, all edges gilt.
Lovely and well preserved edition of John Whittier's famous poem about what might have been, and the regret of a lost love. Handsome, slender edition that maintains a marvelous shelf appearance. Book is ever so slightly bowed, all but invisible when on a shelf.
