Period full calf leather, remnants of paper spine label. Binding in poor condition, leather worn along edges, spine ends chipped, front cover detached, lacks blank end papers. Folding frontis map with old tape stain in center (but complete).
Text block remains sewn although loosened from much handling.
Rare mid-18th century work which has the distinction of mentioning the coloring of maps on the title page as well as the value of gold coins, gilding frames and numerous other topics of interest to a young man starting out in the world around this date.
