Fine antique engraved map printed in the mid 18th century.
Wonderful fantasy map based on the "explorations" of this fictitious Admiral. Note the huge fictitious West Sea with islands in it! This was supposedly discovered and sailed through by Juan de Fuca in 1592.
In near VG condition, light minor age wear, short neat archival repairs on back to fold-line ends, overall remaining clean and attractive with wider margins than normally seen.
Pleasing example of this original antique map.
Original fold-lines as issued.
Sheet measures c. 8 3/8" H x 10 3/4" W
Engraved area measures c. 7 5/8" H x 10" W.
