Issued New York: 1821.

Engraved by C. Tiebout

Charming and uncommon antique engraved print. Produced in America in the early 19th century.

Note the curious & fascinating depiction of various images arranged in a manner unique to this era.

The period hand-made paper shows light signs of age, but still remains mostly clean & well preserved.

This particular type of very precise detailed engraved plate process was very laborious, involving long-apprenticed, highly trained hand artisans. It also involved challenging hand-operated machinery, inking of plates, sheets of paper individually hung to dry, patience, skill acquired over many years of apprenticeship and other endless tasks and labor. Because of these and various other factors, this printed leaf is an interesting original artifact from an era of image creation permanently long past.

Sheet shows signs of almost 200 years existence, some offsetting from facing text page from long ago, some discoloration / old dampstaining along right edge, yet still rather well-preserved. Some light age dustiness or foxing spots / small scattered staining as clearly visible within picture provided.

Still very pleasant to hold in hand and inspect this curious and quite appealing old small engraved image.
