Fine elephant folio sheet map, among the largest commercially produced maps of the early 19th century andone of the best of this era to depict Texas and the areas westward to the Pacific. Engraved with original outline hand color.
Much of the region is still labelled as unknown lands with apocryphal rivers shown connecting the Great Salt Lake in utah to the Pacific, etc. The future Texas Republic outline shape assigned to what is here still Potosi, an independent Mexican republic.
Light uniform paper age toning, typical small scattered spotting, otherwise clean, nice looking example.
