Amsterdam Sailboats Windmills Bridge nice 1807 scarce antique Holland view printBrian DiMambro- Antique & Vintage Maps, Prints, Books & Gold Coins
(Historic City/ Village View- Holland- Windmills- Sailboats- Canal- wind mills- Arched Bridge)
Printed ca. 1807, London
Drawn by Sir John Carr
Scarce original antique aquatint view.
Paper shows typical gentle signs of age, minor normal waviness associated with age, some light spotting or foxing, and a small puncture hole at top center sky, thin creasing at bottom right, but is clean overall and retains its soundness. A charming and uncommon printed view.
An appealing and not often seen antique view which could readily be collected on it's own merits, displayed or given as a present.
Please inspect enlargeable photo closely - Any noteworthy flaws to the printed surface area should be noticeable within zoomable picture provided .
[ note: We grade very conservatively and always seek to disclose any noteworthy flaws. We are doing our best to show & describe this item so you are happy when it arrives ].
Despite any small age flaws the sheet may display, the printed area remains fresh, clean and visually pleasing. The view is well preserved. Someone long ago has trimmed away some of the blank margins as well as slightly rounded the two bottom corners. Entirely mattable & frameable as found.
Overall a nice impression of an original and interesting antique printed image that any collector, dealer, institution or person of good taste would be happy to own.
