Issued c.1865-75, Paris by Pacquet freres
Lovely old vintage antique print with beautiful detailed original hand color.
The woman is spinning flax to make linen. Her distaff holds the supply of linen and she is spinning it onto her drop spindle (thanks to a fellow ebay user for this info).
Printed in the 19th century on paper which is gently age toned but which remains sound, clean & well preserved.
A scarce and beautiful ethnic costume image worthy of display.
In Good+ to near VG or better condition; normal uniform minor age toning to sheet as typical, and small minor age spotting, which should be clearly visible in the scan. Overall the printed image is clean, well preserved and very attractive.
A picture is worth a thousand words. The zoomable image is a major part of the item description. Please examine closely, as what you see is what we will send you. [note: we grade very conservatively and always seek to disclose any noteworthy flaws ].
A relatively little-known and fascinating old/ vintage/ antique printed ethnic fashion image which any collector, dealer, institution or person of artistic taste would be happy to own and display.
