California Gold Region Texas New Mexico Utah 1852 Meyer scarce antique mapBrian DiMambro -Historical Investments
Vereinigte Staaten von Nord-Americal: Californien, Texas und die Territorien New Mexico u. Utah
nach den neuesten Hulfsmitteln gezich von J. Grassl.
(Southwest United States, California, Great Salt Lake, San Francisco, Laramie Plains, Mormon City, Colorado River)
Published c.1852, Hildburghausen, Germany by Meyer for the Neuester Zeitungs Atlas
Fine antique engraved German map with original outline hand color.
Note the shape of Texas, without the panhandle and the huge New Mexico Territory and California. The area around Sacramento is highlighted in yellow color with bold lettering indicating "Gold Region". The topographical mountain ranges shown in the west and desert regions is also of interest for it's speculative and inaccurate nature.
A detailed, scarce and interesting mid-19th century German map which could readily be collected on it's own merits, displayed or given as a present.
In Good+ to near VG antiquarian condition, mostly clean overall, light minor age dustiness or small scattered age spotting as seen, overall the map remains attractive.
