A set of two (2) slender volumes concerning Pierre Corneille, one of the great French dramatists of the 17th century.
The first volume contains a biography of Corneille in French.
The second plate volume, also in French, contains images, portraits, and maps relating to Corneille's life. Included in the back are facsimile reproductions of Corneille's handwriting.
Lovely antiquarian books, a unique pair in matching period mid-19th century European leather bindings, both are well preserved and attractive.
