Four volumes bound in two (includes a supplemental volume), each volume c. 75 pages. Complete with 128 finely engraved plates. Text in English.
Period 1/2 leather bindings, raised bands, gilt lettering, beautiful marbled end papers. All edges marbled. Any age flaws are easy to overlook or forgive.
Some weakening to front hinge, but binding remains tight and sound. Interior contents display a uniform age patina, with minor spotting or foxing. Printed images remain largely clean and bright, well printed and nuanced, only minor scattered foxing spots to a few plates.
Monumental history with a multitude of expertly executed engravings of landscape views and famous landmarks throughout France. Retains a handsome shelf appearance.
Books measure: 11" H X 8 1/2" W.
