In a handsome and well preserved period 1/2 leather binding.
Dark green crushed morocco leather, spine compartments gilt ruled in outline with central devices, raised bands, marbled paper covers and end papers, top edge gilt. Engraved pictorial half title. Fine typography, assorted small woodcut ornaments and devices as chapter headings and tail pieces, a well printed edition, numerous leaves still joined, unopened as issued.
Fresh and attractive, with great shelf appeal. Light minor rubbing, trivial scuff spots, fresh and nearly as issued internally. Fine age patina, a lovely antiquarian set.
Book measures: 7" H X 5 3/4" W.
